NIK KERSHAW "HERE AND NOW TOUR" MANCHESTER ARENA
Monday,15th Dec 2004by Mark Szeliga Szolkowski
We went to see the show in Manchester on Monday night and had a really good time,
even though the place was pretty empty and cold too (it doubles up as an ice rink!)
Limahl started off with a few songs (he wasn't as bad as I expected after reading a few
reviews on the list!).
Can't quite remember who was on next, but I think it was Living In A Box (who I
personally found to be quite energetic but forgettable!).
I'm pretty sure Bucks Fizz were next. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they can
still sing, and it was a professional, slick performance.
I believe Nik was on after them, and just before the interval. So, it would have been
something like an hour after the show started that he made his entrance. He was good -
no mistakes that I noticed anyway! Having said that, the band didn't seem to "fill" the
songs particularly well, or maybe that was just because he had to follow the four part
voice arrangements of Bucks Fizz. As far as I remember, the songs were Wide Boy,
WIBG, The Riddle, and IWLTSGDOM.
After the interval, there was Belinda Carlisle (not bad), Kim Wilde (on for ages in her
dodgy leather outfit - but sang very well), and yes Midge Ure finished the show.
Everybody came back on at the end except for Living In A Box.
